History of Structural Wood Corporation
Structural Wood Corporation (SWC), located in Waddington, NY manufactures wooden roof trusses, wall panels and provides a wide variety of engineered wood products. Roll Lock Truss was originally owned by Frank Roda. In 1983, James Sheehan and Ray McGee, both of Potsdam, NY, purchased the existing truss company and kept its original name. At the time, Ray’s son, Mike McGee, was appointed General Manager of the company.
In 1992, Peter Reiter joined the corporation as a truss designer. In 2011, both Mike and Peter purchased the company and remain the current owners. SWC presently has about 18 full time and up to 10 seasonal employees, for an approximate total of 28 employees during its peak season. The company takes pride in the quality of its products and services by incorporating lean manufacturing principles to provide value added products and efficient turn around service to its customers.
